The survey information tells you what benefits young people get from participation at your agency. The survey data are useful within the agency and for stakeholders. Agencies that have administered the youth development survey have been able to identify gaps and strengths in their programming that they have not had concrete information on before. Youth will provide honest and compelling information about the environment, how they perceive their involvement in agency activities, and what is lacking in the supports and opportunities they need to experience healthy development.

After your agency administers the survey, you will receive an analysis of your survey information from YDSI researchers. The results include a demographic profile of the type of youth who are coming to your agency and how frequently they are participating, as well as information related to each of the supports and opportunities. If your agency elects to survey youth across several different programs the results will be presented so that you can examine youth experiences within programs, as well as across programs for an agency-wide perspective.
